our story
In October 2014 I (Claudia) moved with son Fadi (2011) and my ex-partner from the center of Amsterdam to beautiful Portugal. From the same year we started working hard on the bed and breakfast of his parents, and with a lot of effort and especially a lot of fun we successfully expanded it with several accommodations. Because this went so well, I later decided to set up a holiday home as well.
Boutique Guesthouse
The desire to renovate and fully furnish an old house has always been there. This wish was fulfilled faster than expected; in December 2015 I came across an old wine farm (Quinta) for sale through a friend. Consisting of several connected buildings, with authentic wine presses and beautiful stone walls. I did not have to think about this for very long :)) ... The renovation would start in May 2016, and thus Quinta Ninho d'águia was born, named after the valley where the quinta is located.
We don't just want a house with apartments to rent out. It should be a place where you feel at home because of its small scale, personality and attention to the interior. The current three apartments are lovingly decorated with a personal and eclectic mix of Portuguese vintage, finds, curios and modern purchases. The term "boutique" is also used for this form of rental.
Swimming pool
In the garden is a large oval swimming pool, measuring 11 x 5 meters and 150 cm deep, surrounded by a spacious tiled terrace with sun beds and umbrellas, where you can of course sunbathe and relax.
Bar
Next to the pool there is a cozy corner where the bar is located. There is a large Coca-Cola fridge where you can get a drink. You indicate on the check-out list what you have taken, and pay it with us at the end of the week. In the summer months sometimes spontaneous evenings just 'pop up'; we together with the guests, or the guests with each other. The so called Go-with-the-Flow evenings :))
Future of Quinta Ninho d'águia
The quinta stands on a site of two hectares, which consists of the spacious garden which flows into a valley. The house, consisting of three connected buildings in a horseshoe shape, has so far been converted into three apartments. We live in the main building, so you will run into us every now and then. Do not worry; we have a large (private) space at our disposal, where we mostly stay when we have guests. But if you need us, we are always there for you !!
The great wish is to have a maximum of five exclusive accommodations placed in the future, four of which are in the valley. This is to ensure the small scale, personality and tranquility of this unique place.
